Pre-Team

4 years and older

Pre-Team is where it all begins. Gymnasts will learn what it takes to be on our competitive team. Practice times will be two times a week for one hour for the Mini Pre Team and three per week for one hour. This is by invitation only. Gymnastics team is not for everyone and that is okay. Dedication and discipline is a must, but your gymnast will have a blast learning and competing.

USA GYMNASTICS COMPULSORY TEAMS

Level 1 - 5

Competitive gymnastics in the United States is governed by USA Gymnastics (USAG).

Junior Olympic / Development Program (DP)

This program includes Levels 1–10 and is where the majority of gymnasts train and compete. Athletes progress through levels by mastering required skills, routines, and competition expectations.

At TTG, athletes begin learning many foundational Level 1, Level 2, and some Level 3 skills through our recreational and pre-team programs. Official competitive team participation begins once athletes join our Competitive Team program.

USAG OPTIONAL TEAM

Levels 6 - 10

Levels 6–10 are considered “Optional” gymnastics. At these levels, athletes perform personalized routines designed around their strengths, style, and abilities.

As athletes advance, routines become more difficult and require:

  • Greater strength and flexibility
  • Increased artistry and performance quality
  • Advanced tumbling and release skills
  • Higher levels of consistency and mental focus

Optional gymnastics allows athletes to develop creativity and individuality while competing at increasingly advanced levels.
