TTG's Story

The Texas Tumbleweeds Gymnastics School was established in 1972 by owners Charley and Ginger Arons.  They had seen the need for quality gymnastics instruction beginning at an early age and began to build a program to fill that need.  The “Texas Tumbleweeds” quickly grew to accommodate pre-school instruction, recreational classes, cheerleader tumbling, competitive gymnastics and gymnastics camps.  Students traveled from surrounding counties as well as the hometown area to participate in the many different programs.  Throughout the years, The Texas Tumbleweeds produced many State and Regional Champions.

The whole family was an integral part of the day-to-day workings of the gym.  Charley and Ginger as well as their three daughters, Terri, Regina and Landa, instructed classes at the gym as well as traveling across the state to judge gymnastics meets.  The family was also involved with gymnastics camps and clinics across Texas.  Ginger was also a pioneer in the judging field becoming the State judging director from 1974-1980.

Ginger is still very active today judging gymnastics in USA competitive events and High School competitions.
